Sega quickly
announced a new expansion pack due out in June for Creative Assembly's
Rome: Total War. Titled Alexander, the game predictably follows
the adventures of Alexander the Great as he unified Greece, and marched
Eastward, conquering one land after the next.
"The next
challenge for Rome: Total War fans has arrived," said Scott A.
Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "The
impressive detail and craftsmanship with
which The
Creative Assembly has designed Rome: Total War – Alexander is
guaranteed to transport players back in time to ancient battlefields to
experience some of the most epic battles in human history."
Our question of
the day is why the expansion focuses on Alexander the Great, when the
game is called Rome: Total War. Rome wasn't really much of
a power in the region for centuries to come when Alexander was
around. Shouldn't the game then be called Greece / Macedonia:
Total War?
