The third
installment in Namco's long-running weapons-based fighting game, Soul
Calibur, has officially gone gold for the PlayStation 2.
Continuing the story of the swords Soul Edge and Soul Calibur, players
will be able to work their way through the game with a choice of 25
different characters, which includes three new faces: Zasalamel, Tira
and Setsuka.
With Soul
Calibur III, Namco is emphasizing the addition of a number of new
gameplay modes including the ability to create one's own character, a
mode that allows players to enter real-time strategy battles, a sort of
challenge mode, as well as several other modes, many of which will allow
players to unlock various things in Soul Calibur III's museum.
The game is
currently slated for an October 25, 2005 release, with a T for Teen ESRB
rating.
