Publishers just
love cramming all of their top games into the coveted Christmas selling
season, hoping that it's their game that becomes the surprise hit of the
season. This year, it looks like most publishers have been taking
a merciless beating at retail, posting losses left and right.
Now Take-Two is
joining the chorus of companies not making all that much dough, as the
publisher has announced that it took a $29.1 million loss for the first
quarter of its financial year.
On top of this,
net sales are only slightly higher than half what they were a year
earlier, with Take-Two pulling down $265 million, compared to $502.5
million the year previous.
