New Final Fantasy XI Expansion Announced

Square-Enix have announced that another expansion pack is on the way for their MMORPG, Final Fantasy XI, titled Treasures of Aht Urhgan. Little has been mentioned as of yet in regards to what will be in this latest expansion, but from what is known thus far players will have three new character classes at their disposal. The unconfirmed rumors of a blue mage are still floating around, but the most concrete-looking of the new classes is a geomancer, who will act as a sort of

magic-using tank in parties. This class will cast shielding spells, with local geography and weather affecting bonuses on these spells when cast. However, because the geomancer is still a mage class, they will wear light armor akin to what other types of mages in the game use. What remains to be seen is what sort of story this expansion will have in the wake of Chains of Promathia, not to mention which platforms the expansion will be coming to.
