News is
surfacing with a number of facts and figures explaining how the 360 is
performing these days. First off, there is word that Microsoft has
managed to sell approximately 3.2 million units thus far. The
breakdown by region for this number is 1.8 million 360s in North
America, 1.1 million in Europe, and 300,000 in the rest of the world.
That in mind,
Microsoft is now raising its predicted sales numbers to 5-5.5 million
systems sold by year's end. With the delay of the PS3 until the
Fall, Microsoft certainly has a better chance of achieving this now.
Interestingly,
the company was also quick to note that despite only having a user base
of a little over 3 million people, three of the top ten games sold in
March were for the 360.
Not everything
is rosy for the console, though, as Microsoft's Home and Entertainment
division (which is responsible for the Xbox, and 360) continues to post
consistent losses, now clocking in at $388 million for the quarter.
