In a recent
survey conducted by Japanese publication C-News, results suggest that
Japanese gamers are just as uninterested in the Xbox 360 as they were
for the original Xbox console. According to the survey results,
only two percent of the 1,000 people who participated chose the Xbox 360
as their most anticipated next generation console. By comparison,
eight percent of those surveyed chose the Revolution, and 60 percent
chose the PlayStation 3, with 30 percent left undecided.
The
most likely reason for gamers to lean heavily towards the PS3 is that a
large number of them mentioned big name franchises when asked what kind
of games they would like to see on next generation consoles. With
the PlayStation 3 looking like the most likely system to receive series
like Dragon Quest, Devil May Cry, Tekken, and the like, it's not so
surprising that it would be the most anticipated next generation console
among Japanese gamers.
